How to Avoid Being a Negative Person

by Johnny Webber

1. Stay away from negative people. Do not let others bring you down.

2. Walk away from drama. Don’t get into screaming matches. Everybody comes out looking like a loser.

3. Never complain. Stay positive. No whining.

4. Recognize everybody has their troubles. You don’t know what is going on in others’ personal lives. If somebody is rude or flippant, just shrug it off.

5. Avoid stress. If the situation is out of your hands, then there is no reason to fret. If the situation is in your hands, then do something about it.

6. Eat a good meal, and get some sleep. It’s easy to get cranky when you are hungry and tired.

6 Ways to Make Yourself a Happier Person

by Johnny Webber

1. Play the part. Stand up straight. Smile even if you do not feel like smiling. Body language is important. Amy Cuddy’s TED talk covers all of this.

2. Remove negative people from your life. Say goodbye to the whiners and complainers. You do not owe anyone anything, especially not your friendship.

3. Go after something you love. Think about what you want most in life, and then work your butt off for it.

4. Stop comparing yourself to others. This is where social networks get you. You only ever see the cool things other people do and never the sucky. In the end, you are left comparing your mundane day-to-day life with others’ adventures. That is a competition you cannot win.

5. Stop taking things so personally. Being offended is a choice. Choose to not be offended. You will be happier and so will others.

6. Concentrate on making yourself happy first.. If you cannot make yourself happy first, then you cannot be expected to make others happy.

Fitness Excuses You Need to Stop Making

by Johnny Webber

1. I will start tomorrow. No, you won’t. Do it now, or do it never.

2. I am just too busy. If the President has time to workout, you have time to workout.

3. I do not know where to start. The first step is showing up. Ask for help at the gym, or do some push-ups in the garage.

4. I’m just not the athletic type. You don’t have to be. Lifting and running requires little coordination. And like anything else in life, practice helps.

5. I don’t want to get too bulky. Getting yourself into the shape of a professional bodybuilder is a ton of work. Obsessive work. You will not get huge unless you drastically change your diet, and commit several hours daily to lifting weights.

6. I cannot afford a gym membership. You spend $100 on cable every month, and buy Starbucks every morning. Go to the gym.
